Learn To Groom Your Own Dog

Have you ever wanted to learn how to groom your own dog without the intensity of a full blown grooming course? Maybe you live remotely or simply find it difficult to book into groomers with your busy schedule. Well Doggy Dayspa is here to help. With our Groom Your Own Dog tutorial you will receive 1:1 tuition from one of our qualified groomers to teach you the basics of grooming your own dog.

Each grooming session is specifically tailored to your dog's individual needs but at a minimum you will learn:

• Brushing techniques to safely remove knots and tangles (which brush is best suited to your dog)

• How to clean your dog's ears and how to tell if they have a possible ear infection

• How to trim your dogs nails safely and effectively

• Dog teeth cleaning and the importance of dental hygeine

• Clipping of paw pads

• Clipping of coat (which blades to use and how to handle your dog safely)

• Deshedding of coat for double coated breeds (brushes and techniques)

• Scissoring around face and feet (safe handling techniques)​

During your session your dog will receive a bath, blowdry and full groom specific to their needs (this may be a full groom, tidy groom or deshed groom).

This tutorial is perfect for learning to maintain your dog between professional grooming visits, or to learn the basics of grooming your dog yourself. Please note this is not a professional dog grooming course.

On completion of your tutorial you will receive a Certificate of Completion as well as a 30g bag of Doggy Nourish Treats. Plus if you decide you wanted to continue grooming your dog, we can help you setting up an at home grooming station including tools and equipment.
